This whole thing is basically a description of what good clinical listening looks like, most people are taught to treat silence as a gap that needs managing instead of the place where the real information actually shows up. Most people pay attention to life from moment to moment, whereas the silence in between the moments is where the real magic happens, and that's where true curiosity is allowed to flourish.

This really resonated with me.

In a world that rewards constant activity and noise, choosing to go quiet isn’t withdrawal, it’s creating the space for better judgment.

Some of our clearest insights don’t arrive while we’re reacting; they emerge when we slow down long enough to actually observe.

I feel a bit of anxiety when there is a long pause in conversation so I resonate with your words about filling the space between.
